Kelly Rowland Says Beyoncé Was Robbed By Emmys For Homecoming (Video)

If you tuned for the epic Beyoncé documentary of “Homecoming” like I did you might be agreeing with former Destin’s Child member Kelly Rowland.

Although the documentary did not take home the Creative Arts Emmy Award this year the project did receive six nods: outstanding variety special (pre-recorded), outstanding costumes for variety, non-fiction or reality programming; outstanding directing for a variety special; outstanding music direction; outstanding production design for a variety special and outstanding writing for a variety special.

Still it wasn’t only us.

When asked if she thought Beyonce was robbed, Rowland said,

“Absolutely… only because I know that she lost sleep, I know that she like… it was homecoming. The culture of it, the pride in it, the passion behind it, the countless sleepless hours, I know what those are, and I know what those were for her. So yeah, I do think she was robbed.”

Unfortunately, Beyoncé lost the directing honor to Springsteen on Broadway, production design for a variety special to Rent, outstanding writing to Hannah Gadsby’s Nanette, music direction to Fosse/Verdon, and costume design to RuPaul’s Drag Race. The real shock however, was that the concert film lost to James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke in the Outstanding Variety Special category.

Do you think Beyoncé was snubbed?
